What is a soffit?
A soffit is the horizontal underside element that sits between the front fascia board and the wall of the property. These can be added to a roofline, porch or doorway.
It is usually vented to allow good airflow to the roof space, preventing dampness from building up.
You can add bulbs to soffits which provide an attractive lighting effect to the outside of your property.
What is a fascia?
The fascia is a long, straight board that runs along the lower edge of the roof. It is fixed to the lower ends of the roof trusses and generally supports the lower edge of the bottom row of tiles. It is also what all the guttering is attached to.
